Liam has been keeping us pretty busy with his new walking skills. He is so proud of himself. Every morning when he is taking his first few steps it is as though he forgot that he can walk sometime through the night and he gets this huge grin on his face and giggles a few times because he is so proud of his skills. I have been videoing him relentlessly because I want to get him as much as possible before he gets better at it and lowers his arms. I have found time to finish our bedroom decorating project. For Christmas, Tom and I decided to give each other the gift of a new bedroom. We have been using my bedroom set for the last few years but when we got married, Tom also had a beautiful set that we weren’t sure what to do with. We decided to refinish it and add new hardware. It was a huge undertaking but it is finally done. I don’t think I ever want to strip a piece of furniture again. That stuff is caustic. Tom did an amazing job repainting the frame and tables. Of course, this meant that I had to get new linens for the bed. What a terrible thing to HAVE to do! That prompted me to get new wall hangings and stuff. The only problem is that I am really picky and couldn’t find anything that fit what I really wanted so I ended up making them myself. Nothing fancy, but we like them. Oh yeah, I also felt the need to paint an accent wall. I am really polishing my painting/handy woman skills. So, after a huge snowball that started with Tom’s old bed and a cheap stripper… (Sorry Babe but I had to! I find myself hilarious even if you don’t!) and ended with some shelves and homemade canvases, we have a new face for our room and I love it. Now what project shall I work on next…?
Liam continues to grow. He loves going to see Grandma and Grandpa. I have learned that I can’t say their names unless we are really going to see them because Liam will hear it and run to the door and grunt to go outside and get in the car. He really loves them. He also loves to talk on the phone. Nana will call and I will put the phone to his ear and he will get a huge grin and listen for a few minutes. He is telling us now what dogs and cats say and I am trying to teach him what a lion says. At the moment when I growl he just smiles and thinks that Mommy is being really funny (or weird.)
Tom is gearing up for the permanent switch to his new Folsom office. I love the new location and the ladies he works with. They are in the midst of planning a Ladies Night of Indulgence and I have been hired to make cheesecakes for dessert. I love being able to do something that I enjoy and that provides us with a little mad money. I don’t know exactly when I started baking so much but I am glad that I did, even if it means I have to run a bit longer! Speaking of which, I am gearing up for the SF marathon at the end of July. I am debating doing the Big Sur one earlier in the year but haven’t decided yet. Both would be amazing. I do hope it is “Worth the Hurt” as the motto says.

Liam has a newfound liking of hats. Even hats that are really his pj bottoms

That's more like it

We visited the Sacramento train museum with some friends. Liam actually enjoyed the trains but more so the walking around.

We found a great new park called Castle park and Liam loves it
